THE FUTURE OF WATER AND THE NEW EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE: INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES AND ENERGY SAVINGS

Abstract

The European Commission has adopted a directive proposal for the revision of the previous provisions on urban wastewater treatment (UWWTD) which will contribute to achieve the target of zero pollution (reduction of micropollutants and concentrations at the discharge) and zero consumption.

The topic addressed during the 11th edition of the conference held by SEAM engineering focused on the current state of European legislation and the changes proposed by the new European directive, reporting practical examples and innovative technologies, which aim to achieve the new objectives established through the optimization of wastewater treatment.
