Abstract

Through an environmental impacts analysis of product with a life cycle approach, an Italian company leader in thermo-hydraulic components production has identified innovative solutions to recover its product at the end of life. However, the lack of clear rules regarding the real possibility of materials’ recovery could inhibit the company’s investments in terms of circular economy. The promotion of an economic system reducing waste and enhancing recovery necessarily and urgently must be supported by a complete and clear legislative framework. Otherwise, the economic financial risk linked to environmental improvement innovations risks being too burdensome for companies.
